Senior Graphic Designer
Responsibilities:
The senior graphic designer will play a key role in realizing the creative direction & execution of web, print, environmental, digital signage, & advertising projects. This position will carry the full responsibility of the design function for a project regardless of the medium. The ideal candidate will share our commitment & enthusiasm to make a difference through clever concepts, exceptional design, & flawless execution.
Requirements:
- Four year degree in graphic design or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the field
- Possess a solid understanding of both business & user goals, while having a clear grasp of how to effectively present & move through information in creative & informative ways
- Previous experience leading design for successful brands
- Top design skills, preferably from a web design background
- Strong aesthetic sense
- Strong conceptual & creative skills
- A passion to design & inspire while sharing ideas in a team-oriented environment on cutting-edge projects
- Experience visualizing concepts quickly & cleanly, from inception through development
- Ability to follow & provide creative direction
- A demonstrated depth of experience in copy/design integration, typography, & interactive interface design
- Experience establishing design standards & related processes
- Effective verbal & written communication skills & the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users & support staff
- Commitment to customer satisfaction
Computer Skills:
- Thorough understanding of basic computer operational procedures, workstation set-up including Mac & Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in word processing, in-house scheduling software, date, & contact software
- Proficiency in the use of standard graphic design tools
- Basic understanding of current web markup or scripting languages: HTML, CSS
- Experience & understanding of site architecture, user experience, color theory & color management on the web, proper file formats, compression methods & techniques, etc.
Duties:
- Design & implement creative designs & graphics using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, After Effects & 3D
- Work with existing staff to establish a creative direction, build mockups & prototypes, establish & create style guidelines & style guide documents as project deliverables
- Communicate with peers & management
- Contribute to team environments
- Support of established production systems
Working Relationships:
The senior graphic designer reports directly to the president.
